If we saw low-key looks at the couture shows last time around, this season proved the opposite. A recession may be threatening but couture is back, baby. Not only did the top shows attract a new crowd of high-profile guests (hello, Timothée Chalamet!), but the regulars brought their fashion A-games to the streets. Catsuits were blinged out from head-to-toe (sort of like Doja Cat at Schiap), and there was no shortage of gold, be that in the form of painted faces or an AmEx gold card bag. With the weather being chilly, we saw luxe fur coats and accessories aplenty (hopefully faux), though others seemed happy to brave the cold. We spotted more than one gal working the tights-as-pants look—possibly (probably) inspired by Matthieu Blazy’s spring 2023 collection for Bottega Veneta. Scroll through to discover 9 street style trends from the spring 2023 couture season.
